Confucius Institute in New York
Recently, the Confucius Institute at the State University of New York at Albany organized a series of cultural activities, striving to spread Chinese culture, to enhance the understanding between China and the United States.
On October 8th, the Confucius Institute at the State University of New York at Albany held a "Chinese Culture Teaching" event in the context of a globalization seminar, exchanging China’s culture teaching experience, learning teaching skills. The seminar attracted locals from New York, the state, from middle schools and from nearby Clarkson University, especially Chinese language teachers, Chinese history teachers and many more. The Confucius Institute at the State University of New York at Albany aims to become New York's cultural and educational center for exchanges between China and the United States as well as a China business platform to deepen the understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
When leaving the Confucius Institute to become a Chinese language teacher the institute provides Chinese teaching aids and materials, hoping that their experience with the Chinese and China create deeper affinity.
On October 23rd, the 45th Annual Festival of Nations was held in the center of the Grand Auditorium. Congressman Paul Tonko and other local dignitaries came to congratulate. A total of 34 countries and thousands of local people participated in the event.
Since the beginning of 1972, the Annual Festival of Nations has become the most important cultural event of the year, The Confucius Institute lead by its US President Huang Youqin and its Chinese President Cao Dejun sits at the center of it now.
