On 22th September, the US congressional staff delegation consisting of 13 members that was organized by Asian American Institute visited SWUFE. YIN Qingshuang, vice president of SWUFE, met with the delegation group in the meeting hall of Tengxiang Building. Related leaders from the Institute of Chinese Financial Studies of SWUFE, the Research Institute of Economics and the Management, School of International Business of SWUFE and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation also participated in the meeting.
YIN Qingshuang gave a warm welcome to the US congressional staff delegation and briefly introduced the history and reform of SWUFE, school-running characteristics, construction of world-classes disciplines, and recent exchanges and communications between SWUFE and America. YIN Qingshuang expressed that, SWUFE has always attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, Currently, SWUFE has established deep and diversified cooperative relationships with many universities, scientific research institutions and financial enterprises of America. He also expressed his hope that this visit could further deepen mutual trust and friendship between people from China and America as well as promote non-governmental exchanges and cooperation between China and America. Darrell Doss, representative of the American congressional staff delegation indicated that, this visit to Chengdu has brought many surprises to them, and their visit to China this time aims at promoting friendly cooperation between China and America, and in the future, they will be willing to help and create beneficial conditions for the cooperation between SWUFE and more American universities and institutions so as to learn from each other and make progress through mutual communications.
Afterwards, members from the congressional staff delegation had a heated communication and discussion with the representative of the teaching staff from SWUFE on education system of Chinese and American universities as well as economic and trade cooperation between China and America.
The American congressional staff mainly consist of assistants and consultants of important congressmen from the Senate and the House of Representatives. This visit aimed at understanding the cooperation of higher education between China and America and the development of China’s economic society, and promoting Sino-American cultural communication and development.
