On March 14, Alex Neil, vice president of the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, and his colleague, visited SWUFE. Yin Qingshuang, vice President of SWUFE, met the guests at Tengxiang Lou buidling, with other staff representatives.
Yin Qingshuang welcomed the representatives from University of Southampton, and briefly introduced the history of SWUFE. He also mentioned that SWUFE attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and expects to establish more extensive and close contacts with more renowned universities overseas in the future.
Alex Neil introduced the basics of University of Southampton. He said that as a founding member of the Russell University Group and the World University Alliance, Southampton University takes the scientific research, teaching, and social services as its core funtions and also implements an international strategy. They attach great importance to cooperation with Chinese universities and hope to open a new chapter in cooperation with SWUFE.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the university’s history museum and currency museum.
The University of Southampton is a member of the Russell University Group, a member of the World University Alliance, and a member of the SES-5. The school was built in 1862 and the main campus is located in Southampton. In the year of 2018, it was ranked 102 in the list of QS World University and 126 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
