On January 8th, the 2019 Sino-Swiss Forum on New Trends in Wealth Management, hosted by School of Finance of SWUFE and BankenBeratungsZentrum(BBZ), organized by Beijing Research Institute, Sina Finance and the View Financial(Fortune). More than 40 experts and scholars from relevant government departments, domestic and foreign universities, financial industry, research institutions and other fields participated in the forum. YIN Qingshuang, Vice President and Standing Committee Member of SWUFE, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. ZHAO Jingmei, Dean of School of Finance, presided over the forum.
YIN Qingshuang delivered a speech to welcome all guests. He introduced SWUFE's long history of development and distinct financial characteristics, pointing out that SWUFE has been committed to meeting the major strategic needs in financial field, and striving to build a high level of "Financial Think Tank". He said that China's wealth management industry has entered a new stage, and he wished this forum fruitful results, which will provide positive intellectual support for the future innovation and smooth the development of China's wealth management, and make positive contributions to promoting the systematic training of wealth management talents and business elites.
Urs Basler, founder of BBZ, introduced the great revolution of the traditional business model of Swiss banking industry. He said that great changes have taken place in the wealth management business in the post-financial crisis era. It is necessary to re-examine the traditional classic business and operation mode. China's wealth management is showing an exciting trend, which can be inspired from relevant fields in Switzerland and to further stimulate the development potential.
WANGLishe, DeputyDean of “The Belt and Road” Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, Deputy Chief Economist and Minister of Project Development of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs said that the forum focused on the development of “B&R” and the significance of financial cooperation. In 2019, the “B&R” project will be launched in a comprehensive way, and there will be tremendous opportunities for cooperation in all fields including finance. How to train financial talents who master the international norms is particularly important to better serve the “B&R” development. He also showed the confidence that this forum will achieve fruitful results in all fields.
The keynote speech followed the opening ceremony. Urs Basler’s speech focused on “Swiss Private Banking Status and Development Trend of Exploration”; XU Jin, Director of Trust Wealth Business, General Manager of Wealth Management Center, former Vice President of Zurich Branch of CCB, revolved around “Matching Switzerland to Focus on the New Normal of Chinese Family Wealth Management and Inheritance”; Andrea Kuhn, the first President of CYP, a Swiss financial professional education benchmark enterprise and expert of Swiss Banking Association, gave a brilliant speech on “Swiss Finance Vocational Education” and ZHAI Lihong, Director of Institute of Trust and Financing of SWUFE, gave a speech on the theme of “China's Wealth Management Market Prospects under the New Regulations of Asset Management”.
Subsequently, the forum held a round table discussion on the theme of “Wealth Management Business - Seeking Development in a Rapidly Changing Market”. Guests from the Private Bank and Wealth Management Department of CCB, the Private Bank Center of ICBC Sichuan Branch, the Wealth Management and Private Banking Department of BOC Sichuan Branch, the Private Banking Department of CMB Chengdu Branch, the Private Banking Department of Zhejiang Merchants Bank, the Chengdu Branch of Industrial Bank, the Chengdu Branch of Bank of East Asia, the Wealth Management and Private Banking Department of Guangzhou Bank, Sichuan Tianfu Bank Head Office, Jianxin Trust,Finance College of GuotaiJunanSecurities, Zhongtian International Finance Securities Sichuan Branch and other financial industries held brilliant discussions around the theme of the forum.
In the afternoon, a seminar on the curriculum of“Certified Wealth Management Consultants” was held. Experts from universities, financial industry and scientific research institutes at home and abroad discussed the curriculum outline, content development, curriculum quality construction, assessment and certification in depth, and provided many good suggestions for the next course offering and certification.
Before the forum, the strategic cooperation agreement MOU was signed between the School of Finance of SWUFE and BBZ, aiming at establishing a platform for academic and practical exchanges in the financial field, strengthening the exchanges between Sino-Swiss financial peers, and promoting the systematic training of financial management talents and business elites. This forum has strongly promoted in-depth cooperation and provided a solid foundation for personnel training, scientific research and social services in many fields.
