The 2022 "Chinese Bridge" online program of SWUFE - "Sino-Greece Cultural Special Exchange Group" study and exchange camp opened


On March 21, 2022, the 2022 "Chinese Bridge" delegation online program - "Sino-Greece Cultural Special Exchange Group", organized by the Chinese-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education and hosted by SWUFE, was grandly opened. This learning camp hosted by SWUFE is the third "Chinese Bridge" online program approved by the Sino-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center. All members of project team of the College of International Education, SWUFE, foreign representatives, and 226 students from Greece, Israel, the United States, the Netherlands, Italy, Indonesia, and other countries gathered online to celebrate the opening of the program.


At the opening ceremony, Dr. Liang Ting, director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and dean of the College of International Education, SWUFE, expressed her gratitude to the partner colleges and universities for supporting this online learning camp and extended warm welcome to the participants who signed up for this project via recorded video.


Bai Qiaoyan, director of the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Office of the College of International Education, delivered a speech on the online learning camp. She wished that everyone would use Chinese as the "golden key" to explore China and Chinese civilization, and improve Chinese language proficiency through the "Chinese Bridge" courses and enjoy Chinese culture.


Prof. Grigoris ZAROTIADIS, dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, was invited once again to attend the opening ceremony of SWUFE's "Chinese Bridge" delegation online program after a year as a foreign representative. He expresses his gratitude for SWUFE to provide the opportunity to Greek students to learn Chinese. In his speech, Prof. Grigoris ZAROTIADIS pointed out that there are both opportunities and challenges for international cooperation within the context of the epidemic. He hoped to carry out more in-depth and comprehensive cooperation with SWUFE in the future and expressed his sincere wishes for this learning camp.


Mooli LAHAD, director of the International Academic Affairs Office of Tel-Hai College in Israel, also sent a greeting video for the learning camp. He expressed good wishes for the participants and commended SWUFE for organizing the event against the backdrop of the epidemic. In his speech, Prof. Mooli LAHAD mentioned that China and Israel are two countries with creativity and innovation spirit. In the difficult times of the pandemic, it is of great significance to go beyond the limitations of physical boundaries with such an online program and promote the exchange of knowledge, culture, and ideas.


At the opening ceremony, Jiang Linyi, teacher of the course group, introduced the syllabus, learning guide, and tips of the "Chinese Bridge" project to the students. Based on the actual needs of the students, the program is themed with the cultural features of Chengdu and China, and is carried out in the form of real-time cultural lectures, language teaching, online interactive communication, and recorded video courses. Through the combination of lectures and cultural settings via “cloud”, participants are able to learn relevant Chinese vocabularies and sentence patterns and feel the charm of Chinese language while gaining a deeper understanding of the unique Chengdu culture and experiencing a multi-dimensional China.


Two student representatives also attended the opening ceremony and shared their study experience at SWUFE. The participants also watched SWUFE's promotional video and the highlights video of the 2021 "Chinese Bridge" program. During the opening ceremony, participants also had a warm discussion with the hosts, which showed their expectations for the upcoming online learning journey.
