SWUFE Team Won the Silver Medal in 2022 SAS China University Data Analysis Competition

Recently, the 2022“SAS China University Data Analysis Competition” concluded. The teams from SWUFE School of Finance won a series of awards in the national finals and became the silver medal winner, an unprecedented achievement.


The teams of SWUFE School of Finance competed fiercely with 614 teams from Peking University and many other universities nationwide. Seven teams from the School of Finance entered the national finals, and three teams were listed in the National Top Ten and won the runner-up, fourth, and eighth place, respectively; Two other teams finished in the Top 20 and Top 30. It was the best performance ever since the debut of SWUFE teams in 2016. SWUFE also won the Excellent Organization Award, and the advisor & Professor XU Zhi won the title of Excellent Advisor.


The excellent results obtained by the participating teams of the School of Finance in SAS China University Data Analysis Competition fully demonstrate the achievements of the school’s innovative teaching. Wherein the course Financial Data Analysis and Programming offered by Professor Xu Zhi explores the formation of the educational philosophy of “promoting teaching and learning through competition”, actively builds the course ecology of “one course + one certificate + one competition”, deepens students’ understanding of the practical application of professional knowledge, constantly optimizes the pedagogy, and continues to improve the quality of talent training by encouraging and guiding students to participate in high-level professional competitions.

The School of Finance has attached great importance to curriculum development and teaching quality improvement and regarded the professional competition as an important channel to promote learning and test the learning outcomes. It has gradually established a four-in-one financial talent training model of “classroom teaching + project research and development + professional competition + practice”, built a series of platforms, and explored the construction of a professional competition system to continuously improve the professional quality and comprehensive quality of students and to comprehensively promote the upgrading of the “New Finance” strategy.
