Introduction to the speaker:
PAN Jiahua is the director and researcher of Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, director of Research Center for Sustainable Development, professor of graduate school and doctoral tutor. He also serves as a member of National Committee of Climate Change Experts and Foreign Policy Advisory Group, vice-president of China Ecological Economics Sociaty, vice-president of China Sociaty of Urban Economics, vice-president of China Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association and chief scientist of the National 973 Project. In 2018, He is elected as a new member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
His main research areas include sustainable development economics, land and resources economics, world economy, energy and climate policy, etc. He has presided over more than 30 research projects of international cooperation, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China, 973 Program, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, State Ministries and Local Provinces. He has written and edited 8 academic monographs, and More than 300 articles have been published, including Science (2008. 10, 2012. 6), Nature (2009.10), Oxford Review of Economic Policy (2009.10), Social Sciences in China (2002, 2009) and Economic Research Journal (1993, 2008). He has won many awards such as SUN Yefang's Prize for Economic Science.
