Delegation from City University of Macau Visit Southwestern University of Finance and Economics

On March 8th, Vice President Ye Guiping and a delegation from the City University of Macau visited the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). Li Zhisheng, Vice President of SWUFE, welcomed the guests in the VIP Lounge of the Tengxiang Building. Officials from the Faculty of International Studies and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs Office) attended the meeting.


During the meeting, Li Zhisheng warmly welcomed the delegation from the City University of Macau and introduced them to SWUFE's history, educational characteristics, international exchanges and cooperation, as well as the upgraded "New Finance and Economics" strategy. Li Zhisheng mentioned SWUFE's active response to the “Belt and Road” Initiative, continuous strengthening of country and regional studies, and the establishment of two Ministry of Education-approved research centers—the Africa Research Center and the Bay of Bengal National Research Center. He emphasized the importance that SWUFE places on cooperation with universities and institutions in Macau, noting Macau University's strong expertise in fields such as economics, finance, and the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed hopes for enhanced collaboration between the two universities in talent cultivation, academic research, and faculty development to seize development opportunities together.


Vice President Ye Guiping expressed gratitude for the warm reception at SWUFE. He praised SWUFE's remarkable achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, and the upgraded "New Finance and Economics" strategy. The City University of Macau values its cooperation with SWUFE and actively integrates it into the national development landscape. This visit marks the beginning of friendly cooperation between the two universities. Ye Guiping expressed the desire to open a new chapter of comprehensive cooperation across multiple fields and levels, contributing jointly to China's modernization and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
