1

On April 28, the 10th International Festival of SWUFE was held at Jimin Square, Liulin Campus. The event brought together international students from over 100 countries and regions and their Chinese peers for a vibrant celebration of cross-cultural exchange.

The opening ceremony was attended by Party Secretary Zhao Jianjun, President Li Yongqiang, Deputy Party Secretary Ming Haifeng, Vice President Li Zhisheng, Gong Chunming, the Deputy District Mayor of Wenjiang District, and Zhu Ke, the Deputy Director of the Chengdu Public Security Bureau’s Exit-Entry Administration, along with representatives from local authorities, university partners, and relevant university departments.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Li Zhisheng congratulated the successful launch of the 10th International Festival of SWUFE and extended sincere thanks to the local government and partners. He noted that the festival, themed "Co-existing Locally, Co-creating Globally," represents a proactive response to the vision of expanding high-level international education outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan. It also serves as a vibrant example of SWUFE’s efforts to advance the "New Finance and Economics" agenda, strengthen industry-education integration, and foster Sino-foreign cultural exchange. He expressed the university’s commitment to working closely with local government for mutual development and shared success.

During the ceremony, SWUFE and the Wenjiang District Commerce Bureau jointly inaugurated the "Education Practice Base for International Students in China."

The ceremony opened with a face-changing performance of Sichuan Opera, followed by a lively showcase of songs, dances, and theatrical performances by students from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia, Togo, and other countries. More than 40 booths offered students and faculty a glimpse into diverse world cultures. The festival also featured several interactive zones for intangible cultural heritage and an exhibition area for Wenjiang-based companies, where participants could try their hand at traditional Chinese crafts like Sichuan embroidery and experience the charm of Chinese culture firsthand.

As a key initiative under the "Study at SWUFE" brand, the International Festival cultivates an internationally engaged campus environment, brings together students from all backgrounds, and deepens their connection to SWUFE. It has become a signature event for cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries at SWUFE.
