On March 13, 2021, the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University successfully held the HSK online at-home test again since last June, with 20 students from Northern Macedonia taking the test at levels 1-5. For the first time, volunteers in China and local teachers in northern Macedonia collaborated online to invigilate the exam.
In order to guarantee the smooth progress of the test, all the staff and volunteer teachers of the Confucius Institute provided guidance for the examinees in terms of registration and test preparation. Measures such as training and mock examines have been taken to ensure everything run smoothly for the test.
One candidate thanked the Chinese volunteer teachers for their patience in organizing and guiding her during the mock exam. "It was necessary to test the equipment and check technical problems before the formal exam," she said. "I am very grateful to the Chinese volunteer teachers for their patience in guiding me to successfully test the exam system."
In order to ensure the smooth progress of the test, three local teachers participated in the invigilation and successfully conducted the first HSK test of this year.
After the exam, all the examinees said that the HSK gave them an opportunity to test their learning outcomes, and they would take the HSK test as the motivation to learn Chinese, make continuous efforts to improve their Chinese in the future, and strive to come to China to study and work after the end of the epidemic.
Since the establishment of the HSK test center, the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University has successfully held three offline tests and two online tests. The long-distance invigilation at home and abroad further enriches the experience of Confucius Institute in organizing the examination, which will help Confucius Institute to expand the scope of examination service and improve the level of examination service under complicated conditions.
