On October 14, the signing of a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between SWUFE and ABC and the unveiling ceremony of the "New Finance" comprehensive laboratory were held in Liulin Campus. Cui Yong, Vice President of ABC, Han Jing, General Manager of the Institutional Business Department of the Head Office, Jin Dongmei, Senior Institutional Expert of the Business Department, Liu Jiawang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sichuan Branch, Mao Hong, Vice President of the Sichuan Branch; Zhao Dewu, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Yin Qingshuang and Zhang Bangfu，Vice President of SWUFE, and heads of relevant Schools and Offices attended the ceremony. Zhang Bangfu presided over the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Zhao Dewu delivered a speech on behalf of SWUFE. He briefly introduced the development of SWUFE and its disciplinary features and elaborated on the strategic tasks of SWUFE during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, as well as the advances in the new round of "double first-class" disciplinary development. He reviewed the friendly cooperation between SWUFE and the Agricultural Bank of China over the past years in talent training, technology research and development, research transfer, settlement cooperation, financial services, etc. He highly praised the achievements of the Agricultural Bank in recent years. He also pointed out that the signing of this comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement, especially the joint program of building "New Finance” Comprehensive Laboratory, marks closer cooperation between SWUFE and ABC, starting a new chapter on bank-university cooperation. It was expected that both sides would take this event as an opportunity to strengthen collaborative innovation through the practice of the strategic cooperation agreement. Both sides should further expand cooperation between banks and universities in the future and transform their respective advantages in resources, innovation, competition into cooperation advantages and development advantages. These efforts matter as the Agricultural Bank of China is on the way to being a world-class commercial banking group and SWUFE is managing to be a world-class university with distinctive financial characteristics.
Then Cui Yong introduced the reform and development of the Agricultural Bank of China in recent years and spoke highly of the SWUFE's achievements in discipline development and talent training. He stressed that the development of the Agricultural Bank of China is inseparable from the supports and concentration of the alumni of SWUFE, so the Agricultural Bank of China and SWUFE have a solid foundation for further cooperation. The establishment of the "New Finance" comprehensive laboratory marks the great outcomes of cooperation between the two parties. He said that financial institutions are currently in greater demand for talents in financial technology and financial risk management, so the two parties should ensure a sound implementation of the agreement, and joint cultivation of talents across industry-university-research. And the newly-built "New Finance" comprehensive laboratory and smart campus innovation platform make up parts of the innovation collaboration of bank-university.
After that, the participants of both parties witnessed the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement signed by Yin Qingshuang and Han Jing, and the "New Finance" comprehensive laboratory unveiled by Zhao Dewu and Liu Jiawang.
According to the cooperation agreement, the two parties will take the "New Finance" comprehensive laboratory as a foundation, with consideration of China’s major strategic demands, to strengthen the theoretical and practical integration of the financial industry, building high-end banking think tanks, and upgrading digital operations for a broader space in bank-university cooperation.
After the ceremony, Cui Yong and delegates of ABC, accompanied by Zhao Dewu, visited the SWUFE history museum and monetary and financial museum.
