China-Israel Digital Finance Innovation Center Established

On October 24th, the signing ceremony of China-Israel Digital Finance Innovation Center and China-Israel Innovation Meet-up was witnessed by guest from the two countries. Present at the event include Yin Qingshuang, vice president of SWUFE, Bai Jindong, deputy director of Chengdu Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau, and Dan Catarivas, director general of foreign trade and international relations at the Manufacturers’Association of Israel (MAI).

Yin introduced SWUFE’s remarkable achievements and unique advantages in the field of finance and talent cultivation, as well as its close collaboration with Israel in digital finance and technology-based business incubation. According to Yin, SWUFE is now focusing on implementing a strategy to develop related disciplines. And with the innovative comprehensive partnership between the two countries, China-Israel Digital Finance Innovation Center will bring great opportunity for all. Yin expected that the Center could help in the development and application of China’s fundamental technologies, advancing its fintech, and eventually spurring the economy of both China and Israel.

Bai pointed out that the Center shows the awareness of all related parties of the significance of fintech and digital economy. Chengdu Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau will work with relevant agencies, he promised, to support the establishment of a technology business incubation platform, to pool global innovative technologies and talents, and to optimize Chengdu's entrepreneurial and financial conditions.

Dan Catarivas at MAI mentioned the bond of Chinese alumni of Israeli universities with academic institutions and business associations in Israel. The Center shall boost China-Israel cooperation in the future, said Catarivas.

Following the ceremony was an innovation meet-up where Shumuel Ben-Tovim, chairman of Israeli Fintech Community and head of Israel Smart Cities Institute, gave a keynote speech. He analyzed where the Israeli fintech industry has been and would go with the impact of the pandemic.


The meet-up also welcomed Gil Paecht, general manager of Openlegacy, Zheng Yu, founder of technology company Yingbo Zhiyun, and Lu Jun, CTO of technology company Weisifan. They gave edge-cutting and constructive ideas on digital fintech, transformation of IUR achievements, tech-innovation incubators and more.


China-Israel Digital Finance Innovation Center was co-founded by SWUFE’s Fintech Innovation Center, the Israeli Universities Alumni Association of China, and the local technology service company Winpower-Skymoon. This is an open platform for financial cooperation in fields of frontier technologies, IUR achievements transfer, and business incubation. To serve both industrial and academic communities, it plans to construct a network consists of focal points in China and Israel, which helps to appeal talents and enterprises, to support native high-tech companies, and to make Chengdu a national central city and financial central city in West China.
