
On June 2, the 2023 International Workshop on Financial Innovation and Award Ceremony hosted by the Editorial Department of SWUFE Financial Innovation was held online. Experts and scholars from China, the United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and other countries and regions discussed the innovative changes brought by OpenAI and ChatGPT in the financial field. The workshop was presided over by Zhao Jianliang (Professor from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and the Co-Editor of Financial Innovation). Professor Zhuo Zhi (SWUFE President and Co-editor of Financial Innovation), and Professor Yin Qingshuang (Vice President of SWUFE) attended the relevant events.
In his opening speech, Zhuo Zhi shared a series of achievements made by SWUFE in promoting the strategy of “building new liberal arts, leading new finance, and creating new advantages,” affirmed the significant role of Financial Innovation in accelerating the “double first-class project” of SWUFE and comprehensively promoting the strategic upgrading of “New Finance,” and encouraged Financial Innovation to act as a “bridge” connecting global scholars and displaying the image of China. It has made a major contribution to the development of the original knowledge system and offered solutions to the social development problems of mankind.
During the keynote speeches, Associate Professor Roman Lukyanenko from the University of Virginia, Professor Yu Weitu from the City University of Hong Kong, Professor Fang Yulin from the University of Hong Kong, Associate Professor Fan Shaokun from the Oregon State University, Professor Li Jian from Beijing University of Technology; Professor Hasan Dinçer from Istanbul Medipol University, Associate Professor Shang Guangzhi from Florida State University respectively shared their views on such topics as making the artificial intelligence more transparent through concept modeling, restarting startup in the online crowdfunding market, fairness in human-machine collaboration, pre-sale in the supply chain with capital constraint, the transformation of financial decision-making by artificial intelligence and fin-tech, and the marketplaces that charge cryptocurrency transaction fees.
Yin Qingshuang attended the award ceremony held in the afternoon and extended warm congratulations to the award-winning scholars on behalf of SWUFE. Dr. Han Jia, Journal Publishing Manager at Springer Nature Group, shared the support provided by the publisher in the development of the Journal. The awards of “Best Paper,” “Best Editorial Board,” and “Greatest Contribution” were presented to scholars from France, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, and other places.
The International Workshop on Financial Innovation is a high-caliber academic exchange platform built based on Financial Innovation. The workshop is of great significance for enhancing the international communication guidance of financial disciplines, creating a highland of financial and technological innovation, and promoting upgrading the “New Finance” strategy of SWUFE.
