The Delegation of College of Business Education from Tanzania Visited SWUFE

Edda Tandi Lwoga, Rector of Tanzania College of Business Education, and Japhet Mtaturu, Director of the Planning and Development Department, visited SWUFE on June 14. SWUFE President Zhuo Zhi met with the delegation in the VIP Hall of the Tengxiang Building. Heads of the Research Institute of Economics and Management and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Zhuo Zhi extended a warm welcome to the delegation of Tanzania College of Business Education and introduced the development strategy and “Double First Class Project” of SWUFE. He pointed out that Africa is indispensable to the“Belt and Road” initiative. China has a long-term friendly and cooperative relationship with Tanzania, and there is greater potential for cooperation between the two universities in the context of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the promotion of high-level education opening to the outside world. Tanzania College of Business Education is the first overseas partner university to visit SWUFE after the COVID-19 pandemic. In recent years, the two universities have carried out cooperation in the fields of teacher training and African studies and made many phased achievements: The “African Studies Center” was approved by the Ministry of Education as a national and regional research center, and the “East Africa Study Center” was jointly established. It is hoped that the two universities could take this visit as an opportunity to expand and enrich cooperation and work together to promote the high-quality “Belt and Road” cooperation between China and Africa.

Edda Tandi Lwoga thanked SWUFE for the warm reception and mentioned that since 2019, SWUFE has trained a large number of excellent PhDs for the Tanzania College of Business Education through the teacher training cooperation project, and these doctors have effectively promoted the teaching and scientific research development of Tanzania College of Business Education after returning to work in the College, and the fruitful results of talent training and scientific research cooperation between the two universities have injected new impetus into the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” between China and Africa. It is hoped that the two universities will continue to expand and deepen cooperation and promote mutual benefits and win-win results.
