CHENGDU, June 11th — A 14-member delegation from the City University of Macau (CityU Macau), led by Vice Rector Professor Ip Kuai Peng, visited the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). The group received a warm welcome from SWUFE's Vice President Li Zhisheng at the Tengxiang Building, alongside representatives from the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, Graduate School, and the School of Humanities and Arts.
Li Zhisheng warmly welcomed the delegation, emphasizing both universities' complementary strengths and resources. He highlighted the recent acceleration in collaboration, particularly through the partnership between SWUFE's Research Institute for Countries of the Bay of Bengal and CityU's Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking countries. Li underscored SWUFE's commitment to cooperating with Macau's higher education institutions and its ongoing initiative to establish a Shenzhen Advanced Institute to integrate into the Greater Bay Area development. He encouraged enhanced cooperation at the school, scholar, and student levels to facilitate more effective joint projects.
Professor Ip Kuai Peng expressed gratitude for the hospitality and affirmed CityU's dedication to deepening collaboration with SWUFE. He pledged to broaden cooperation in areas such as curriculum development, faculty exchange, academic research, and student exchanges, aiming to seize opportunities presented by the Greater Bay Area's development.
Following the meeting, the City University of Macau delegation toured SWUFE's Currency Museum, further fostering cultural and educational exchange between the two institutions.
