On September 3rd and 4th, over 7,800 new students of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) arrived in western Chengdu to embark on their academic journey. SWUFE, renowned for its century-old heritage and commitment to economic and social development, welcomed these new enrollees who will carry forward the spirit of "Striving for the betterment of society and well-being of the people."

The campus was aglow with enthusiasm as the SWUFE community prepared meticulously for the arrival of students from across the globe. Pre-arrival guidelines, an online check-in reservation system, designated areas for parent rest and luggage storage, volunteer teams, and shuttle services were all part of the comprehensive plan to facilitate a smooth transition for newcomers.

During the registration period, University Council Chairman Zhao Jianjun visited both campuses to greet the new students and their families personally. He expressed a warm welcome and gratitude to the parents while also ensuring that the students were aware of the precautions necessary due to the hot weather conditions. Chairman Zhao reviewed the registration process and thanked the faculty and staff for their hard work under the scorching sun.

Leaders, including Chairman Zhao, also visited dormitories, where they met with newly settled students, inquiring about their arrival experiences and adapting to the new environment. They encouraged the freshmen to set goals, develop skills, and actively engage in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Campus volunteers dressed in "SWUFE Blue" and "Volunteer Red" helped with luggage, guided students through registration, and provided valuable insights into life at SWUFE. To provide comfort during the busy days, the university arranged rest areas equipped with fans, chairs, water, ice cream, and mung bean soup. Special photo zones were set up for students and their families to capture memorable moments. Shuttle buses ensured efficient transport between registration points and dormitories, and security personnel managed traffic effectively, maintaining order throughout the sprawling 2,300-acre campus.

Registration marked the first official step for the new students at SWUFE, setting the stage for their academic pursuits and personal growth within this vibrant educational community.
