On October 30, the roadshow evaluation and awards ceremony for the Seventh Fintech80 Chengdu Hackathon was held at Sichuan Radio and Television Station, co-hosted by SWUFE and Chengdu Jiaozi Financial Holdings Group.
This year’s competition focused on the theme "Redefining Auto Insurance: Challenges from Intelligent Driving," addressing the design of insurance products in the era of autonomous driving. Queen's University in Canada won the highest award, the Pioneer Award; ETH Zurich and Tsinghua University received the Leader Award; the National University of Singapore, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Electronic Science and Technology, and Georgia Institute of Technology were awarded the Innovator Award; and SWUFE received a Special Award.
During the awards ceremony, the organizing committee, along with over 20 institutions including Tsinghua University and Chengdu Jiaozi Financial Holdings Group, launched the "Chengdu 80" Incubator, focusing on the incubation of high-quality projects and talent cultivation in the fintech and technology finance sectors. Zhang Lisheng, Executive Vice President of the UAE Chinese Business Council, sent a video message inviting participants and expressed hopes for the Seventh Fintech80 Chengdu Hackathon to serve as a bridge connecting the financial industries of China and the Middle East.
This competition, hosted by SWUFE and referred to as the "Fintech Hackathon" in the industry, has been held for seven consecutive years. This year, it was listed as a key task in Chengdu’s fintech industrial chain, with a stronger focus on cutting-edge social issues and the transformation of technological achievements. The event emphasized the establishment of an ecological incubator alliance among government, industry, academia, and research, fully embodying the concept of "promoting learning through competition and promoting production through competition."
It invited government officials, investment institutions, and quality enterprises to participate in the showcase, creating a communication platform for high-quality projects and talent. The essence of "80" has expanded from 80 hours of development to uncovering 80 high-quality projects and identifying 80 top talents, continually enhancing the competition's platform role and international influence.
SWUFE, as the organizer, will continue to lead the integration of industry and academia in fintech and promote new developments in the industry, collaborating with social resources to cultivate innovative and globally minded talent.
