The 7th International FinTech Forum, co-hosted by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (“SWUFE”) and China Construction Bank Singapore ("CCB Singapore"), began on November 5, 2024, as part of the Singapore FinTech Festival's (“SFF”) Insight Forum. This marked SWUFE's first academic forum outside China in recent years, focusing on "Fintech and sustainability: when responsible finance meets academic wisdom." The two-day event explored how universities and financial institutions can collaborate to drive sustainable economic development.
The forum highlighted FinTech and green finance, featuring speakers like Nobel laureate Sir Oliver Hart, who discussed CSR and ESG, and Pamela Mar, who explored the digitalization of supply chains for sustainability. A roundtable moderated by Yap Poh Seng gathered leaders from various sectors, sharing insights on FinTech’s role in sustainable development.
The event also introduced the “IBSWUFE Intelligent Collaboration Platform,” developed by SWUFE’s FinTech Innovation Center in collaboration with CCB Singapore. This platform integrates academic research and banking expertise to foster digital innovation, enhancing cross-functional collaboration in the financial sector.
The forum successfully concluded, reinforcing SWUFE’s international presence and showcasing its leadership in FinTech. Over the past seven years, the forum has brought together global experts, strengthening China’s role in shaping the future of FinTech.
