Professor Lin Huazhen from the Statistics School Elected as a Member of the IMS Fellows Committee

Professor Lin Huazhen, Director of the Statistics Research Center at SWUFE's Statistics School, has been elected as a member of the International Mathematical Statistics (IMS) Fellows Committee for the 2024-2027 term. She is the only Mainland Chinese statistician among the current committee members.


Professor Lin’s research focuses on the theory and methodology of non- and semi-parametric estimation for complex structured data. She has served as an associate editor for seven international statistical journals, including the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Biometrics, and Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, and has been on editorial boards for several domestic journals like Mathematica Acta and Applied Probability & Statistics. In 2021, she was named an IMS Fellow.


Founded in 1933, the IMS is one of the world’s leading academic organizations in statistics and probability. The society focuses on advancing and promoting the theory and applications of statistics and probability. Its official journals include Annals of Statistics, Annals of Probability, Statistical Science, and Annals of Applied Probability.
