On July 10, Clarivate Analytics released the latest data from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), announcing that the Economics & Business discipline of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) has entered the top 0.1% globally. SWUFE ranks 50th worldwide and 2nd in China in this field, marking a significant milestone in the university’s global academic competitiveness and international influence.
Since the launch of China’s second-round World-Class Project, SWUFE has made remarkable academic progress. The university has added three new first-level doctoral degree programs in Marxist Theory, Mathematics, and Public Administration, as well as three professional doctoral programs in Accounting, Auditing, and Social Work. Ten disciplines have been listed in the 2024 ShanghaiRanking’s Best Chinese Subjects and Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, with two entering the global top 50.
SWUFE's Business Administration became the first discipline in western China to receive EQUIS accreditation and re-accreditation. Its Accounting program was also the first in Chinese mainland to receive dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting. These achievements reflect the university’s growing academic strength, comprehensive educational capacity, and international impact.
