To further advance China’s strategy for educational opening-up and accelerate the development of a world-class university with distinctive strengths in finance and economics, Li Yongqiang, President of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), led a delegation to visit universities in Italy, Switzerland, and France.
Focusing on SWUFE’s new-century internationalization strategy, the delegation reached broad consensus with multiple institutions on joint education, academic collaboration, and talent exchange, further deepening cooperation with Europe.
In Italy, the delegation visited Ca’Foscari University of Venice and Sapienza University of Rome, where both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in digital management, fintech, and data science, and expand joint Ph.D. programs. University leaders praised SWUFE’s excellence in business education and expressed commitment to deeper collaboration in celebration of the 55th anniversary of China–Italy diplomatic relations.
In Switzerland, visits to the University of Zurich, University of Lucerne, and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts opened new prospects for cooperation in fintech, digital management, and arts management. Partner institutions expressed strong interest in building long-term collaboration frameworks with SWUFE.
In France, the delegation visited Paris Business School and Audencia Business School (Nantes). The two sides agreed to promote DBA and MBA joint programs, and signed an agreement to jointly launch a Doctoral Program in Business Administration on Corporate Sustainability.
The delegation also met with officials from the Chinese Embassies in Italy and France, and held discussions with SWUFE alumni and Chinese doctoral students.
This visit marks an important step in SWUFE’s efforts to advance high-level educational opening-up, expand global partnerships, and deepen cooperation with European universities.
