SWUFE 2025 Autumn Sports Games Successfully Concluded


From November 6 to 7, the 2025 Autumn Sports Games of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) were held at the Liulin Campus. With the theme “Salute the New Era, Strive for a New Journey—Celebrate the Centennial, Forge SWUFE’s Brilliance”, the event brought together Chairman Zhao Jianjun, President Li Yongqiang, all university leaders, and representatives from various schools, institutes, and administrative departments for the opening ceremony.

The Games officially began at 8 a.m. on November 6 at the Morning Light Sports Field, with Chairman Zhao announcing the opening and Vice President Gai Kaicheng presiding.

This year’s event featured 40 competition categories, including track and field, tennis, table tennis, badminton, billiards, orienteering, sunshine running, group rope skipping, tug-of-war, and sit-ups, attracting more than 20,000 participants. The Games inspired great enthusiasm among students, faculty, and alumni—many of whom returned to campus to celebrate the university’s centennial through sportsmanship and unity.


On the field, athletes embodied the Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger—Together” through their spirited competition, while spectators cheered passionately from the sidelines, creating an atmosphere full of energy and pride.

The Games successfully concluded on the afternoon of November 7. In his closing remarks, Vice President Gai Kaicheng emphasized that this was the first sports event held since SWUFE entered its new century, marking a milestone of unity, progress, and success. He encouraged all participants to uphold the principle of “Health First,” embrace sportsmanship, and continue contributing to SWUFE’s new century with stronger bodies, fuller enthusiasm, and higher aspirations.


University leaders and department heads presented awards to the winning teams. The School of Finance/ Institute of Chinese Financial Studies of SWUFE, the School of Business Administration, and the School of Accounting won the top three places in the overall standings for both the Autumn Sports Games and the “Guanghua Cup” sports series.
