On December 30, the 2026 New Year Gala was held at the Student Activity Center of Liulin Campus. Faculty, students, and alumni gathered together to reflect on past glories, celebrate the upcoming new year, and foster a shared spirit of progress through a variety of artistic performances.
Chairman Zhao Jianjun delivered a speech, extending New Year greetings to all faculty and staff, retired leaders and teachers, SWUFE students, and alumni at home and abroad.
President Li Yongqiang unveiled the "SWUFE Top 10 News Stories of 2025." Attendees revisited the memorable moments and highlights of the past year through a special video.
The gala opened with the song and dance performance "Light Up the Future." The dynamic melody and colorful stage lights, combined with the performers' energetic and passionate singing, infused the evening with a vibrant and youthful atmosphere.
Part I: The graceful song and dance "Blossoming China" integrated the nation's prosperity with New Year's joy. The dance "Celebrating Spring" was jointly performed by teachers and children from the Kindergarten Affiliated to SWUFE, showcasing the warm and intergenerational bond at SWUFE. "The Power of Martial Arts" demonstrated the breadth and depth of Chinese martial arts.
Part II: The drama "Thunder in the Silence" recounted the story of SWUFE student Cao Lizhong, who bravely sacrificed himself to cover the retreat of his comrades. The song "A New World" expressed SWUFE members' pride in the country's prosperity and their determination to contribute to national development. The dance "Hibiscus in Bloom" blended Chengdu's local features with the New Year spirit, reflecting SWUFE's deep roots in the Sichuan region.
Part III: The video "Carrying Forward a Century, New Year Wishes" gathered heartfelt messages from across the globe, conveying blessings for SWUFE and hopes for the future. The chorus segment resonated with the entire audience: "Chengdu" sketched the ties between SWUFE and the city, while "Aspiration" expressed the persistent pursuit of ideals. The song and dance "Happy New Year" was performed by international students, spreading New Year's joy to everyone present. The sports dance "Painting China with Dance" combined athletic vitality with artistic beauty. The solo "Spring Ballet" was performed with superb vocal skill, adding a unique artistic touch to the gala.
The finale, the song and dance "The Unending Song Through a Century," warmly concluded the gala. Faculty and students took the stage together, using song to review SWUFE's original aspirations and perseverance over a century of education, and to demonstrate SWUFE’s confidence and resolve to embark on a new century journey.
