
On March 31, Hai Sui Yu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds, UK, visited SWUFE with his delegation. President Li Yongqiang and Vice President Li Zhisheng met the delegation.
Li Yongqiang extended a warm welcome to Hai Sui Yu and briefly introduced SWUFE's history and recent development. He noted that both universities have strong traditions and distinctive strengths in business education. Following a productive SWUFE delegation visit to Leeds, he expressed hope that both sides would further expand cooperation in business, data science, and interdisciplinary fields, and advance joint programs at all levels, from undergraduate to doctoral, as well as Sino-foreign cooperative education initiatives.
Hai Sui Yu thanked SWUFE for the warm hospitality and spoke highly of the university's achievements in academic development and international engagement. As a founding member of the Russell Group, the University of Leeds is known for its comprehensive disciplines, strong research capabilities, and global outlook. He emphasized that Leeds values its partnership with SWUFE and looks forward to closer ties and concrete collaborations in faculty and student exchanges, joint training, and research.
Vice President Li Zhisheng provided an update on previous discussions between the two universities. Both sides engaged in in-depth talks on potential areas of cooperation. Leaders from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Finance, the Institute of Chinese Financial Studies, and the School of Economics also attended the meeting.
