On May 13, a joint delegation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), IE University, and SKEMA Business School visited SWUFE. The delegation included Helke Carvalho Hernandes, Vice President of EFMD; Juan Jose Güemes, Director of Corporate Strategy at IE University; and Christophe Germain, Associate Dean of SKEMA Business School. President Li Yongqiang met with the delegates.
Li Yongqiang extended a warm welcome and briefed the delegation on SWUFE’s recent developments. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to its “deepening openness” strategy, highlighting the long-standing collaboration with EFMD through multiple EQUIS accreditation cycles. He also noted the distinctive strengths of IE University and SKEMA Business School in business education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and internationalization. Li Yongqiang proposed expanding cooperation into cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary fields such as finance, management, data science, and AI, aiming to build a collaborative platform that integrates diverse strengths and drives innovation. He expressed hope to jointly develop world-class international programs in business education based in western China.
Helke Carvalho Hernandes emphasized EFMD’s readiness to leverage its global network and expertise in quality assurance and project coordination to facilitate communication and ensure the success of collaborative initiatives. Juan Jose Güemes and Christophe Germain shared updates on their respective institutions and looked forward to launching concrete cooperation to nurture versatile talent with a global vision and innovative capabilities.
The meeting also included in-depth discussions on potential areas of collaboration, with attendance by leaders from relevant departments, schools, and research institutes at SWUFE.
