Vice President Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Alongside the conference, the Global Digital Education Exhibition, themed “Smart Connectivity for the World, Fostering the Future of Education,” showcased innovations in smart teaching, learning models, school governance, and technology. Our “EconWeave” China Economics Large Language Model (LLM) was presented at the Application Scenarios section.

Developed by SWUFE in collaboration with seven other universities, “EconWeave” is a specialized LLM designed for economics teaching, research, and international exchanges. Powered by a proprietary Chinese economics corpus, it serves as a “super digital brain” for analyzing economic policies, interpreting economic trends, and telling China’s economic story. It is one of the first economics LLMs approved by the Ministry of Education.

As a flagship project of SWUFE’s “Digital and Intelligent SWUFE” initiative, “EconWeave” aligns with the national “AI + Education” action plan. Built on the principle of “open sharing, interdisciplinary integration, and leading-edge innovation,” it brings together the economic and financial expertise of eight universities and rich data from China’s development experience. The model aims to shift education from knowledge transmission to skill building, and research from experience-driven to AI-powered.

Since its launch, a dedicated task force has developed five core modules: Smart Teaching Assistant, Smart Learning Partner, Smart Research Engine, Smart Governance Advisor, and Global Academic Companion. Two flagship features, EconWeave Golden Courses and the AI Agent Square, have become key drivers of the university’s “New Finance and Economics” transformation.

At the exhibition, “EconWeave” drew significant attention. Visitors experienced its Q&A function and AI agents such as “AI Course Creator,” “Research Assistant,” “Listed Company Report Analyzer,” and “Entrepreneur Growth Partner.” The model demonstrated strong interactive and content-generation capabilities, highlighting the appeal of economics and its wide range of application scenarios, further enhancing SWUFE’s influence in the field.

Wang Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of SWUFE, attended the conference and visited the exhibition.
