On June 3, the 2026 International Symposium on Financial Innovation, hosted by the editorial office of Financial Innovation, was successfully held at SWUFE. The event brought together over 100 scholars from eight countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas to explore the future of finance in the age of intelligent economies. President Li Yongqiang and Vice President Ma Yongqiang attended the symposium.
Li Yongqiang highlighted the university’s achievements in advancing “New Finance” and the 11-year development of the journal. He discussed the transformation of the financial industry driven by intelligent technologies, and called for deeper cross-border and interdisciplinary collaboration to support SWUFE’s high-quality and international development.
Dr. Han Jia, Executive Publisher at Springer Nature, shared key milestones of Financial Innovation since its launch and outlined the publisher’s support in multimedia dissemination and academic networking. She reaffirmed Springer Nature’s commitment to further empowering the journal’s growth. Ma Yongqiang announced the winners of the Best Paper Award, Outstanding Editorial Board Member Award, and Outstanding Contribution Award. Li Yongqiang, as co-editor-in-chief of the journal, presented the awards.
Keynote speeches were delivered by Professor Hasan Dincer from Istanbul Medipol University, Professor Lin Muxi from Liaoning University, Professor Li Jianqiang from City University of Macau, Professor Wang Hai from Singapore Management University, and Dr. Sumran Ali from the University of Science and Technology of China. Their presentations covered topics such as investment decision-making, integration of real and digital economies, monetary policy, structural modeling, and intelligent finance.
On the sidelines of the symposium, the editorial board meeting of Financial Innovation was held. Nine board representatives engaged in in-depth discussions on improving academic quality, expanding high-quality submissions, and planning future priorities.
