From July 4 to 5, 2026, SWUFE hosted the 2026 Tianfu International Accounting Symposium in Chengdu. The symposium brought together leading accounting scholars from renowned institutions worldwide, including the University of Toronto, Boston College, the University of Tennessee, the National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). SWUFE faculty and student representatives also participated in the event.
SWUFE Vice President Ma Yongqiang delivered the opening address. He highlighted the university’s strengths in accounting research and its growing international scholarly output, and called on the global accounting community to collectively address the transformative impact of emerging technologies such as AI and big data on the entire accounting information chain. He further urged the co-construction of a new theoretical framework and collaborative innovation network fit for the new era.
The keynote session featured Professor Zuo Luo of the National University of Singapore, who presented on the “Economic Logic of Accounting.” This was followed by research presentations from multiple scholars covering cutting-edge topics including audit quality, AI and regulation, and cross-border audit oversight. On the morning of July 5, two parallel sessions showcased the latest research by early-career faculty from SWUFE’s School of Accounting, with papers on audit governance, innovation incentives, and M&A disclosure.
The symposium marks a significant step forward in SWUFE’s international engagement and disciplinary development in accounting, underscoring the university’s growing academic stature and global influence in the field of digital intelligence accounting.
